In celebration of National Poetry Month, San Antonio poet and author Alex Z. Salinas will be reading at Del Mar College. Salinas is the author of two full-length poetry books Warbles (2019) and Dreamt or the Lingering Phantoms of Equinox (2020) and a book of short stories City Lights from the Upside Down (2021). Many of his poems and short stories are set in San Antonio and Corpus Christi. Additionally, Salinas has two forthcoming books of poetry - Hispanic Sonnets and Trash Poems.

Author E.M. Tran will read from her debut novel Daughters of the New Year, where she explores the lives and lineage of three Vietnamese sisters growing up in New Orleans. The novel follows the Trung family through Hurricane Katrina, the Fall of Saigon, and the last vestiges of French colonialism in Vietnam, led all the while by the Zodiac. Tran currently lives in New Orleans and has taken a break from her nationwide book tour to share her work with us in Corpus!
