YOO! Pretty poets, it’s time to spit, shine, and steal the spotlight!
We’re back for a night where every word matters and every line slays. No early notice, no 1st, 2nd, or 3rd places—just raw talent, bold voices, and prizes worth rhyming for.

CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS
Spring Fling is now open for submissions through February 28, 2025. Spring Fling is a web-based anthology. Two main themes:
The season, including religious and cultural observances
Romance
We're looking for short pieces: poems and stories from 1 - 5 pages. We want stories and poems about the season. This includes human stories set against the cultural and religious observances of the season.
"Spring" and "Fling" imply romance. We want love stories. The romance novel remains the most popular literary genre. We want short pieces that mimic the romance novel. We'd also love to see submissions that turn the genre on its head.
Nothing gratuitous or explicit will be considered.
We are interested in including original art, photography, video, and audio. Since Spring Fling is a web-based anthology, it can accommodate all media. In print and e-reader versions, we'll use QR codes to link to video.
The submissions will be posted on MaysPublishing.com starting on March 1, 2025. If we receive enough submissions, we will combine some or all into a book version.
If your work is selected for the book version, you will receive a complimentary e-book copy of Spring Fling.
There will be a live component. Readings and an open mic will be held at The Art Museum of South Texas on March 20, 2025. If you can't attend in person, please send a video. We'll include it in the event.
Send submissions as attached Word documents to MaysPublishing@Yahoo.com. Put "Spring Fling" in the subject line.
