As a playwright, Flynn documented his years working in a homeless shelter where his father, an alcoholic, showed up as a client. His memoir about the experience, Another Bullshit Night in Suck City, became a New York Times bestseller, along with the book winning the PEN/Martha Albrand Award for the Art of the Memoir and becoming a finalist for France’s Prix Femina. Additionally, Another Bullshit Night in Suck City has been translated into 15 languages and was turned into a major film titled Being Flynn. The author’s other memoirs include The Ticking is the Bomb, The Reenactments and This is the Night Our House Will Catch Fire, along with his play, Alice Invents a Little Game and Alice Always Wins.

Submission Deadline for Corpus Christi Writers Anthology 2023
Corpus Christi Writers 2023 is open for submissions until March 31, 2023
Priority will be given to writers from the Corpus Christi metropolitan area, including outlying areas such as Beeville and Kingsville. We want submissions from established writers and from new writers. All styles, genres, and topics are welcome. Poetry and prose are welcome. Fiction and non-fiction are welcome.
Please include all your submissions in one Word document. Send your submission in an attached Word document to books@MaysPublishing.com with YOUR NAME and CCW2023 SUBMISSION in the subject line.
