The Corpus Christi Writers series strives to present diverse views and perspectives that, taken as a whole, reflect what people in this community are thinking. Many writers from previous anthologies return to this sixth book in the series, and many new writers join them. Youthful exuberance coexists with polished style. The themes vary and express the unique viewpoints of the writers. If you are a contributor, you can pick up your complimentary paperback copy between 5 - 7 PM. Copies will also be available for $10. The FREE readings start at 7:00.

Come write with us on vintage and antique typewriters. Local author and typewriter collector, Sarah K. Lenz, will set up her collection of manual typewriters (Royal/Olympia/Smith Corona and more!) Stationary and stickers will be provided. Freewrite or use one of our creative writing prompts. Try your skills at our speed-typing contest. This is a FREE, drop-in event for all ages, children and adult.

“Power & Liberation” Open Mic, Costume Contest, and Queer/Feminist Book Exchange: We invite creatives of every type (creative writers, academic writers, musicians, visual artists, thespians) and every level to respond to this theme--especially as it relates to queerness, feminism, cultural diversity and/or individuality. This fun, beginner-friendly event is hosted by ISSG, ICW, and Islander Feminists and is open to all students, faculty, and friends. There will be free food and a queer/ feminist book-swap: bring in an old book of any genre and swap it for another. Also participate in our costume contest--the winner receives a prize!
